I Burned My Candle and Now the Wax is Rough!

Did you burn your candle and now it looks a bit like this? Don’t worry, no one did anything wrong. It’s rough because the hot wax melted at an inconsistent rate.

This roughness is a common feature of 100% soy wax. Many candles that you may purchase might be made from a wax mixture. 

            There are many different types of mixtures that are used. Multiple types of wax can be mixed, Soy/Paraffin (sometimes called parasoy) though, is the most common. Most companies like to mix wax to prevent things like roughness. The mixtures don’t usually have rough surfaces after burning.

So, there is no reason to worry; there is nothing wrong with your candle. Enjoy it!
