How to Clean Out Your Candle Jars
So, your candle is done burning, don’t throw away that jar; we can clean it. It’s not hard, I promise.
Check out this video on Facebook to watch how. https://www.facebook.com/reel/4459332067724842
Here are the steps:
- Start by boiling some water on the stove.
- Once your water is boiling, take off the heat and pour the hot water into the dirty jar.
- Let the water sit and just don’t mess with it. This part is fun. Wax floats in water. The hot water will melt the wax, and the melting wax will float up to the top. As the water cools, so will the wax. Again, let it be, you want the wax to get hard again. Give the wax a good couple of hours.
-
Once it has hardened, you can take a knife around the edge of the wax and pop it out. You can also loosen and pop out the wick. Then take the wax, water, and wick and throw it all in a trash can. (Note: don’t pour it down the drain, it may clog the pipes!)
- Then wash your jar with soap and water. You can now use the jar for whatever you want. HAVE FUN!!
